Takematsu Udon

This restaurant is about a 20 minute drive away from downtown Ayabe.
Here, the udon noodles, which are made purely by hand with traditional techniques acquired in Sanuki, are boiled in the prized wood-fired kiln, and the soup stock is prepared naturally without additives.
At the restaurant, you can also enjoy the peaceful woodland scenery to the fullest.

Mt. Kimino-o

Mt. Kimino-o is a mountain with an elevation of 582 meters, located in the Kanbayashi area northeast of Ayabe. If you climb Mt. Kimino-o in autumn or winter, you can see the mountains of the Tamba area shrouded in mist, their peaks resembling islands in a sea of clouds.
Halfway up the mountain, you'll also find plenty of natural sights and culture with sites like Komyo-ji Temple, famous for its Nio-mon Gate.

*The "sea of clouds" (or "unkai") can be seen from autumn to winter.

Fukuchiyama Onsen Yoro no Yu

On the site, which occupies an area of around 19,800 square meters, you can find a large cherry tree that is 200 years old. The autumn leaves and moss there are also must-sees. As for the facility, it is fully equipped with features such as an open-air bath situated in a garden with natural rocks, a bubble foot bath, a sauna, a steam foot bath, a cypress wood bath, a pot-style bath, and a large bathtub made of cypress wood.

Izumo Dai-jingu Shrine

This is a shrine that is famous for marriages. In its precincts, there are many attractions such as "Meoto iwa" where visitors go to tie the red thread of their amulets, and "Manai no Mizu," which is the sacred water that springs forth from the mountain of worship that is Mt. Farmhouse NaNa

This is a place where you can experience traditional country life.
Hozu is a rice-producing region that has prospered as a shoen (a manor in medieval Japan) for aristocrats since the Heian period (794-1185). On the site, there is a storehouse that dates back to the Edo period (1603-1867).

Guests who visit will stay in private rooms located in the main building where the house owner lives. The baths and toilets in the guest room (Japanese-style, with 8-tatami mat room, 6-tatami mat room, wide veranda) are for guests only. Here, you can use the refrigerator, microwave, washing machine and Wi-Fi.

Breakfast and dinner will be brought to the guest room.
You can also experience cooking dinner with the house owner in a separate building that has a kamado (furnace rice cooker). At the farm, you can harvest crops such as vegetables, light the kamado with firewood to make rice and miso soup, and bake pizza and more in the stone oven.

On the site, there are also silky fowls, Japanese honeybees, cats and other animals that you can interact with.
