Itohkyuemon Uji Main Store
Itohkyuemon was founded in 1832. Their tea, processed with meticulous attention to quality, has been favored by many renowned temples and shrines. The main store is located on the right bank of the Uji River. They offer a variety of Uji teas, as well as sweets made with Uji matcha green tea, including amazing tiramisu, which make wonderful gifts. At the cafe space, you can savor matcha noodles, delicious desserts using matcha, such as parfaits and anmitsu (a bowl of sweets made with red beans and other Japanese ingredients), and more. Their seasonal parfaits capture the essence of Japan's beautiful seasons, offering a delightful and fulfilling experience.

Nakamura Tokichi Honten Main Store
Nakamura Tokichi Honten was founded in 1854. With over 170 years of history, it is currently run by the seventh generation of the family. Today, it is especially famous for its delicious sweets using authentic matcha green tea, making it a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth. Nakamura Tokichi Honten has expanded from Kyoto into Osaka and Tokyo, with six locations in Kyoto.
The Nakamura Tokichi Honten Main Store (the first Nakamura Tokichi Honten) is located about a minute's walk from JR Uji Station. The old buildings have been preserved for over 100 years, which are designated as a part of Important Cultural Landscape. The cozy cafe is a renovated old tea factory. In the garden, there is an imposing Horai Funamatsu, an about 250-year-old pine tree designated as one of the 100 famous trees of Uji City. From the cafe terrace, you can enjoy the wonderful garden view with tea.
Their teas and desserts are particularly popular here! “Tea Jelly [Matcha]” is among them. The jelly encapsulates the flavor of tea blended with a secret ratio, served with matcha ice cream, shiratama (chewy rice dumplings), and sweet red bean paste. Their “Maruto Parfait [Matcha]” is another popular way to enjoy this delicious jelly. In addition to the matcha, the jelly menu also includes “Tea Jelly [Hojicha],” made with roasted tea. These luxurious desserts are served in photogenic bamboo cups, which are used exclusively at this main store. LOGOS LAND
As a leisure facility for outdoor dining, having fun and staying overnight, Logos Land opened in 2018 through a collaboration between Joyo City and the outdoor brand Logos. Spanning about 9.5 hectares, it offers a variety of activities. You can enjoy both day trips and overnight stays here. There are tents inside rooms for unique and exciting overnight stays, and you can experience “camping” even if it’s rainy or windy, too hot or cold outside. They even offer rooms with terraces that have tarps to protect you from the sun or rain, so there's no need to worry about the weather for barbecuing. Also, other barbecue facilities are available, including a spacious area surrounded by nature. Logos Land is well-equipped with all the ingredients, so you can come empty-handed and just enjoy a barbecue. Kyoto Wazukaso
Kyoto Wazukaso is a comfortable inn located in Wazuka Town in the Kyoto Tea Country region that is the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture. The building was renovated, and reopened as Kyoto Wazukaso in July 2016. Guests can stay overnight, or enjoy a delicious meal on a day trip (advance reservations required for both). With the wonderful concept "savor tea using all five senses," their hospitality is irresistible for tea-lovers. The main building has 2 Japanese-style rooms and 2 Western-style rooms. The annex has three rooms with a capacity of 8, 10, and 12 people, for a total of 30 guests.
The lunchtime special, Wazuka Gozen, features dishes made with tea. Experience the perfect harmony of tea and Japanese cuisine, unique to the tea-producing region. The ingredients vary depending on when you visit, but for example, you might enjoy some of these: chasoba (green tea noodles), tofu (a food with a pudding-like texture) made with matcha green tea, steamed rice with a flavor of hojicha (roasted tea), and a tempura (a deep-fried dish) of tea leaves. Enjoy a delicious meal with a view of a tea plantation right before your eyes. Wazuka Gozen is 2,980 yen (tax included), reservations required 3 days in advance.
The dinner menu offers multi-course meals featuring seasonal dishes, including tea-based dishes. You can even indulge in a bath infused with sencha (one of the most common Japanese green teas) from Wazuka, perfect for relaxation. Furthermore, the aroma of incense burners with real tea leaves adds to the experience. After breakfast, you can enjoy complimentary Wazuka’s sencha while learning about tea.

Keihanna Plaza Hotel
Keihanna Plaza, the central facility for interaction and exchange of the Keihanna Science City (officially known as the Kansai Science City), houses the Keihanna Plaza Hotel. Spa & Hotel Suishun Matsuiyamate, opened in Kyotanabe City in 2018, is a wonderful place to stay overnight or enjoy a day trip. They offer hot spring baths, saunas, and rooms for ganban-yoku (a bathing style in which you lie on a heated stone slab to sweat). The scale of the ganban-yoku is among the largest in this area. Dosenbo Sanso
Minamiyamashiro Village is located on the borders of Kyoto, Nara, Shiga, and Mie prefectures. Dosenbo Sanso, a farmhouse inn on a plateau at an elevation of about 500 meters, cultivates blueberries mainly with organic fertilizer. Visitors can enjoy blueberry picking (around August-October), while listening to the chirping of birds and the babbling of a stream. In this area, even fireflies can be seen around July. In winter, guests can savor hot pot dishes made with wild boar meat, local vegetables, homemade miso (fermented bean paste), and natural mineral water from a local well. Other culinary delights unique to this place include sukiyaki (a traditional hot pot dish made with meat and vegetables, enjoyed with raw, beaten egg), featuring local chicken carefully raised in the abundant nature and eggs with a rich taste.

Kyo-yaki Pottery/Kiyomizu-yaki Pottery Kiln Tour & Painting Experience (Sumiyama Pottery Village)
Tour a kyo-yaki/kiyomizu-yaki pottery (both local forms of Kyoto pottery) production studio and take part in a pottery-painting workshop. There are 10 different pottery rooms, and pottery on sale as well.
Paint on unglazed teacups, plates, etc.The finished pieces will be mailed to participants about 20 days after the workshop.
